Project Overview
Fitness has always been a huge routine for my daily life and since relocating to a different city, the one thing I’ve kept consistent amidst all the changes has been implementing a daily workout routine. As studies have shown, moving your body just 30 minutes a day with walking can do miracles to one’s health in the long-run. So, it just felt intuitive to find a quality gym and reap the health benefits. However, tracking one’s progress and building a community is equally important in maintaining consistency so it was just the next step to designing an all-encompassing app that could deliver on these features to enhance the user’s health and wellness.
The Challenges
While Fit’s app has a lot to offer its members, there were a ton of hyperlinks that drew away from the app’s potential. Without a trainer inputting your workouts through Trainerize, the only primary function of the app was to book a class. There was no way to view your macro input or sync your devices to view your activity levels throughout the day. Essentially, it was an app that housed a ton of other applications as opposed to centralizing all nutritional and fitness information for its members.
The Goal
Design an app that fits the goal-oriented grindset of Fit members to include at-home workouts, immersive filters to view class availability across all locations, track nutritional info, and implement an accountability system and fitness community similar to that of Strava where members could share their workout progress.
